Everyone featured within this issue have given interesting, in-depth, honest accounts about themselves, their work, views and ideas. In addition to the amazing images of the work they have produced, which I know you the reader will enjoy and be inspired by.

The cover of this issue is by Stephen Harper, titled Passage  No 9

“This photograph was taken in the Musee Soulages in Rodez, France, dedicated to the works of the renowned French abstract painter. I saw this image for its geometric shapes of the window frames and the wall displaying the painting. The semi-obscure
blinds and the buildings outside were a bonus.

Lining up the shot, the main person walked in and then towards me. I had to capture him at the appropriate position to enhance my composition. I was also aware of the second person almost out of frame left. I was not sure what was going to happen but if that person walked into the frame, it wouldn’t be good. But I got my “decisive moment”.

The backlighting outlines the main figure and adds to the texture of the floor, which in turn mimics the abstract painting on the wall.

Virtually full frame, very little editing, just a little bit of darkening. ”
